Primary

Children begin to develop the skills needed for their future in primary school. Primary teacher training gives you a privileged opportunity to play a role in an important part of their development.

Our SCITT Primary Programme covers the age phase 5-11 and we take care to ensure our Primary SCITT trainees gain experience of both KS1 and KS2, understanding how children progress incrementally. All of our primary trainees will gain experience planning, teaching and assessing phonics. Our trainees will gain experience of early maths skills, humanities and PE.

We work with Primary experts at the Potteries Training School Alliance to develop our SCITT primary Programme.

Our Primary Trainees experience a three day placement in Early Years provision, a placement in a Special School and in Alternative Provision.
